Hi guys, I’m shutting down Sketchdumb for now, length indefinite.
Art hasn’t been fun for the past year; I don’t know what I want to do with it or what I want from it. The day job, while helpful, leaves me little time for art or running a blog properly. The way I have been running my life isn’t working, so I’m changing it up. Taking my life focus away from art is the biggest change: I want to see what life is like if I don’t define my self-worth by my art skills.
So for now: goodbye, and thank you. I hope to come back someday. I appreciate you all.

April 3 update here: I'm still painting and drawing, figuring out what I value in art, where to take it, how to do art while employed full-time. Extending break for another month, next update May 2; I'll see you then!

I'm taking a month or two off social media to clarify what I want to do with art. I'm not satisfied with my posting (inconsistent) or my art output and content (also inconsistent). If I'm going to do this, I want to do it well and give people a good and consistent experience with my art. Next status update is April 3. My big goals this year: do more traditional art, get a job, and take steps towards becoming independent and consistently, stably self-sustaining. I am not entirely sure what I want to do with art, so I want to experiment more, paint more, pour more of my effort into art in general. Do the thing and trust that the muse will come in time, with consistent practice and hands-on effort.
